Huawei and Honor have showcased the detailed rollout plan of their GPU Turbo technology for select smartphones. The new rollout schedule was reportedly announced at an event in Shenzhen, China and provides additional details as to when the new software feature will be rolled out to the devices across various regions. The GPU Turbo technology is a software update, which is said to increases the devices’ performance by 60%, while reducing power consumption by 30%. The new feature debuted with the Honor Play and the company said that it will soon be rolled out to its other devices like the Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor 9 Lite and the Honor 7X. As per the new report, Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate Pro and Mate RS users in Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa will be receiving the update by August. It will be rolled out to the Huawei P20 Lite in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa by September. The GPU Turbo update will also be rolled out in all markets to other Huawei smartphones like the Huawei P Smart, Nova 2i, Mate 10 Lite and Huawei Y9 (2018) in September. In November 2018, the update will be pushed to the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10 Plus and the P10 across all regions. Coming to Honor devices, Honor 10 users will start receiving the update by August 2018 in regions like India, Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, and Middle East. In the same markets, the Honor 9 Lite and the Honor V10 will get updated with the GPU Turbo Software Update in September. For all regions, the update will hit the Honor 7X in September this year, while the Honor 8 Pro and the Honor 9 will be updated by November 2018. As mentioned above, the GPU Turbo technology is a software update, which is said to reassemble the traditional graphics processing framework at the lower layer system for improving the user experience. Huawei also says that even if its device doesn’t support High Dynamic Range (HDR), it will still be able to deliver "outstanding" graphics quality with GPU Turbo tech. At the event where the company announced the roll-out schedule, it claimed that during testing, the Mate 10 achieved an average frame rate of 59.7 fps while running King of Glory, 59.8 fps on Knives Out, and 59.5 fps on CrossFire.
