iPadOS 161 starts rolling out: Here are the new features that Apple offers

Apple released iPadOS 16.1; the update became the first version of iPadOS 16 to be available to the public because the original version didn't make the cut and didn't release with iOS 16 in September. So, you can now see the update notification on your iPad, but if you want to know what's new, keep reading.

iOS 16.1 new features

Stage Manager: Stage Manager is the one significant feature being talked about the most because it introduces a whole new way to multitask on iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later), and iPad Air (5th generation). It won't activate by default, but you'll have to enable it through the Settings app or Control Center. It allows quicker app switching, and you can create window groups to create sets of apps within Stage Manager. Messages: You now have more control over the texts you send. The new update will allow you to edit texts for up to 15 minutes and undo a text. Another feature is SharePlay which lets you enjoy activities like listening to music, watching movies, and playing video games with friends while messaging. Safari: With the Shared Tab Groups option, you can share tabs with your friends and colleagues in real-time. In addition, you can now customize tab Groups and set different background images and favorites for each. Security: Apple has introduced Passkeys to replace the trouble of remembering passwords. It will allow a safer and quicker way to sign in to your device. Weather app: iPads will finally get their weather app with the iPadOS 16.1 updates. The app is optimized for larger displays and gives notifications for severe weather alerts.
